It can be extremely difficult to make it through school paying your own way. There is no doubt that single students and single moms will have the hardest time. Most people that work a full-time job will also have difficulty attending an actual campus. Did you know you can use the Obama administration’s stimulus package and their grant program to pay for college?

First you need to consider your cost-of-living. If it is just yourself then you will have nothing to worry about. There is enough in the federal program which is now offered at around $5100 per semester today for you and your classes at the community college level.

If you are a single mom or dad and there are dependents counting on you you will probably have to take out student loans. Taking out federal student loans is not a but you will have to pay later for access to this money.

Most of the time people take out loans because they cannot qualify for the grants because they have too much money already in the eyes of the federal government.

Using grants you can avoid having to repay anything for your college education.

There are several grant programs to choose from. Some are even offered through the college that you will attend. For instance one to apply to a State College many of them have funding that is available that will cover the cost of tuition. This is money that does not have to be repaid.

If you are earning grades that are around the 4.0 level you can apply for scholarships that are available through your college counselor or through groups and organizations in your local area. You can also ask church members if they would be willing to sponsor you or other organizations that are willing to help someone in need.

Your best bet is to apply for federal grants offered by the Obama administration. They offer the most money and will possibly cover the entire cost of a two-year and sometimes four year college education. Fill out your FAFSA application to get yourself enrolled in the federal government’s system and you will be underway toward a possible free college education.
